Activating Brain Power

Thought I would let you know of the many projects that occupy me during any given day of the week.  Never just work on one project at a time.  Rather I have a routine of rolling from one project into the next, and the next and the next throughout the day. There are my crochet projects, painting projects, word puzzles, you name it.  While I am sitting down crafting,   I enjoy a good documentary on Netflix or YouTube video from one of my many subscribed channels.  Always looking for a new something to learn about or to do.  I keep my mind active, questioning, wondering, searching.  At the age of 65, my whole life is being revamped.  New job, new home, new life!  It’s all in the working.  Brain power in action leads to a healthy brain and life.

Never will I be sitting in a rocker and crochet afghans mindlessly.  So, I chose patterns that are a challenge,  I choose projects that are new and different from what I have ever done.DIY, crafts, crafting, crochet  Take for instance, this ice-cream cone pillow I am working on.  Have to keep track of ever stitch. Still working on the second side but just one more pat to get through and done.  This is going to be one amazing pillow for a sweet little 4-year-old I know.   The sea turtle is Crush from Finding Nemo.  The grandkids love him.  I can tell because he is in need of repairs from all the surfing they do on his back.  That is the greatest compliment I could ever get for my work. DIY, crafts, crafting, crochet Worn and well used.  I am very blessed to just so happen to love things that keep my mind working on overdrive!  Not to mention warding off ill effects of Alzheimer Disease which runs in the family.

As always, I have painting projects in the works.  This is my “Uncle Wiggily” bunny DIY, crafts, crafting, craft painting, plaster figurinethat brought me so many wonderful memories.   Things I thought I had forgotten sprang to life once again.  He is now done and gorgeous.  Some eggs and lambs for Easter as well as cars that look very similar to a Bug.  Yes, I am working on one that will be Cyber Green just like my personal vehicle.  Have continued working on my Dog Treat Jar DIY, crafts, crafting, craft painting, terra cotta potswith the terra cotta pots.  Have a second one painted up in light brown.  They will be so much fun! Still cleaning out light bulbs to make hot air balloons.  Must say it is just so satisfying and fun to dismantle a light bulb making it empty and crystal clear.

My latest plan is that to clear out three bedrooms on the opposite side of the house and start moving it all to my side of the house.  I have 4 bedrooms and only need my bedroom and the kitchen.  So, in order to transition to my tiny house, I will start to clear out one bedroom at a time and set up shop in smaller quarters.  First to move is the ‘office’ craft room.  This way I will clear out any craft stuff I no longer need and only maintain the essentials required.  All the superfluous will be bagged and tagged for the tag sale.  Two birds with one stone doing it this way.  I recently saw a video of a woman who is living in a RV and showed me how everything she had for her art work is stowed quite nicely.  Reinforced that I myself can do this!
